Bathroom Reveal

Its what you all have been waiting for... and the Wolf Family as well.  We love our new bathroom (and so does Grouper, he parks himself on that floor mat during every shower).  I won't make you wait...

You may have noticed (or maybe not ?) there are some odds and ends left to do - reinstall the cover plates, actually hang the mirror (it is leaning on the light), put some trip around the top of the bead board at the tub, caulk everything, touch up paint here and there, and install a toilet paper holder/towel holders.  But all the hard stuff is done!

The shower curtain, bath mat, tooth brush holder, soap dispenser all came from Pottery Barn.  The paint is Simply Sage by Behr.

Ooooo Awwwww.

Operation: Finish Bathroom Part 2

The sound of birds and hints of consistent warm weathermade the Wolf Household excited in the beginning of March!  We were so stoked to enjoy some nice relaxing time on the water in our boat this summer.  It will sure be a breath of fresh air considering all the projects we have tackled this winter which have since become slightly overwhelming - i.e. the bathroom.

Hence, Operation: Finish Bathroom the first of March.  Hubs and I decided that we needed to go full force on Saturday March 3 (yes, it has been that long) and tackle as much as possible in this bathroom.  Else, it may be next winter by the time we get around to finishing it - you know, with all those boating weekends this summer.  We decided to only work on the bathroom on Saturday since Sunday March 4 was my 28th Birthday!

So, Friday night after work we headed to our favorite store, Home Depot and stocked up on a ton of material.  Saturday morning, bright and early at 7 AM, we started working.  It went a little like this:
-  Feed dog, walk dog, hang some ceiling drywall, install cement board at tub, try to fix one leaking elbow in the water line for the millionth time before finishing drywall = fail = break time
-  Get coffee and breakfast, head to Home Depot, return some items, decide to buy 'Shark Bites' to fix leaking water line
-  Come home, install Shark Bite = success!, finish ceiling drywall, break out the tile, apply thin-set, start tiling, 6 hours later and 10,000 tile cuts later we are hungry
-  Head to Jimmy Johns, eat, head to Home Depot, return some items, buy some material
-  Home to tile, tile, tile and tape and finish drywall
-  Install light fixture
-  10 PM, done working and time to clean
-  Clean, clean, clean then off to bed at Midnight

It was a tiring day.  Hubs and I decided that the Shark Bites saved the day.  Those handy dandy connectors are like chinese fingers and immediately fixed our one leaky soldered joint in the copper water lines.  Hubs successfully soldered like 10 but this one decided it was funny to irritate us for a week.

The tile looks amazing!  I grouted it that week - It looks awesome - I love showering in my tub :)

And, here are pics...

Last items included:  Skim and block drywall, sand and finish drywall, paint, paint, paint and then add some finishing touches like a brand new shower curtain.  We gave ourselves until the end of March ... did we make it?
