Sorry for the lack of pictures.... we have been sans photos of this whole process, mainly because we have been in 5th gear non-stop. But here is it the day we bought it for a refresher.

Red Boat Progress
You may remember, but last fall/winter we Hubs worked on a ton of 'mechanical-esque' things on our new red boat - mainly winterizing the boat and changing some oils here and there, etc, etc. Well for 2 whole weekends now, we have been back at it and prepping this baby for boating season. Stuff like cleaning, waxing, sanding, bottom paint, outdrive paint, etc, etc. It has been some down-right tuff work, leaving Hubs and I especially exhausted come Sunday evening instead of being refreshed and ready to tackle the work week. I must say though that I am more than pleased with the results of our hard work - our boat is nice and shiny and ready to hit the water. We have a few more odds and ends to complete (I am thinking about throw pillows and blankets, Hubs is thinking about tinkering with the generator) but hopefully come March 31 this baby is ready to hit the Potomac and head on over to the Chesapeake Bay.

This Boats got a Home
Two weekends ago Hubs and I decided to take a drive East to the Chesapeake Bay. We woke up and headed to the North Beach / Rose Haven, MD area and stopped by Herrington Harbour - a friend had her amazing wedding there so I had it in the back of my mind. We have been trying to decide where to keep the new boat and have been going back and forth between keeping it at my parents and our old marina in Woodbridge, VA.
Well... all things changed when we landed in Herrington Harbour. For the same price as our old marina we get a ton more amenities are Herrington Harbour - like a pool and fun activities and a beach and a restaurant and a bath house .. etc etc. Plus, we can explore some places that we have never been before on the boat - like Annapolis and St. Michaels and Solomons, MD.
We are definitely ready for some fun in the sun and adventures this summer!

We're on a Boat....
Some of you may already know about our recent amazing Family Purchase.... our very own Boat! Whoop Whoop!
Hubs has spent the last year searching high and low for a boat that fit all our specs and our budget. It has been a tough job. Our top requirement was something we could sleep on comfortably ... and have space fora kid some kids in the future. Well, on our way home from watching VT beat Boston College end of October I got a call from the parentals saying they saw this boat on the side of the road, that was the same model as theirs. We decided to stop by and see what it was all about. 2 weeks later it was ours! The timing was perfect cause I just finished paying off my car plus we got an a-m-a-z-i-n-g deal. The guy just wasn't using it and wanted to get it off his hands + some aesthetic things that require major elbow grease = super fabulous deal.
Hubs spent most of the past couple of weeks winterizing it (himself) and learning all about the mechanical parts of the boat. He's so smart!
