Searching for: A Tripod Lamp

Our Living Room is by far the furtherst along in all things related to decorating and decor.  It helps to spruce it up with brand new furniture, a nice fluffy rug, some excellent built-ins, a gallery photo wall, and fancy schmancy technology (aka Apple TV, Bose Surround Sound). 

What's left:  a new lamp that 'fits' the space, some curtains, and a nice mirror on the entryway wall behind the couch.

On the subject of a floor lamp, I have searched high and low for something that I like.  I feel that it needs a 'beefy' base, something that 'fills' the space in between the chair and couch.  We already have plenty of table - a coffee table and sofa table - so a side table isn't needed. 

At first I thought a candlestick lamp would look fab.  Maybe something like this.

Then I thought height and shade size was really what I needed.

But recently, I have my eyes on a tripod lamp.

What I am leanin toward is (now, after finding it on PB, pretty sure it is new) the Piedmont Floor Lamp.  Committing to the purchase is another thing.

Gallery Wall Reveal

This past Saturday I got to it and hung plenty of pics around the house to include those for our Gallery Wall.

A little history.  I first thought I wanted to do a gallery wall full of different size and color frames; then I decided that maybe something more uniform would look best; but ultimately changed my mind back to a non-uniform gallery wall.

The photos in our gallery wall are all special to us - two are scenes from our wedding, two are us from our wedding, one of Grouper as a pup, one from skiing, a freebie art piece from the mail of two people in front of Burruss Hall at VT, and a J+T pic.

It is what you see right when you walk in the door.  Below shows how the gallery wall is oriented with our living room.

And, what you may have noticed to the right of the couch is... our new chair!  That also came (finally) from C&B on Saturday too.

It is honestly the perfect size for our living room.  I was really worried that our furniture would take up too much space in our awkward shaped living room.  But, it all really worked out perfectly.  Go me on the design front!

Now, I have to find a cool piece of art or mirror for behind the couch.  Still looking.  And, that itsy bitsy lamp needs to go. 

Doing a Little Built-In Dance

I have been horrible about blogging ... horrible I say.  But, I have been doing great at making progress on our living room built-ins.

Look at those beauties.  I painted all day 2 Saturday's ago.  We were so giddy we couldn't wait to bring them up .. so we installed them on Saturday night.  Woke up Sunday and but the books back on them.. look at all that STORAGE!
